I’m remembering the time, how terrible it all was, I was afraid on many levels. Your poem brings it back and I realize again the utter horror of it. The innocent were declared guilty and the guilty were declared innocent on both side of the issue! The image of Rodney, the truck driver, the cops as they beat Rodney, the brothers as they beat the truck driver. It was surreal, yet very real.
